UPSC Civil Services examination is a marathon requiring sustained preparation, which is enabled by proper guidance. The current methods of learning driven by market mania have been tunneling the students into a process of learning with unreasonable and exaggerated targets. It is creating an undue urgency among the students. In this mad rush, students and institutes are relying on shortcuts that are backfiring in every way possible and harming the preparation of Civil Service aspirants.
These shortcuts have typically emerged from the business-as-usual attitude of the institutions. This manifests in seeing the students as consumers and wishing to get rid of them once the course completes. In such a scenario, students are forced to give preference to shortcuts instead of treading the path of concept-based learning.
Manifest IAS has always broken the market molds and continuing with that tradition, we are coming up with a 12 Months-long IAG (Instruction, Assessment, and Guidance) course. This course is an outcome of a wise and in-depth understanding of the demands of the UPSC and the capabilities and limitations of a newcomer in the exam.
Typically, students without any exposure to the exam, attend the coaching classes and before they get a grip over the exam, their classes get finished, and with it the tests and guidance too. But a student needs tests and guidance even after the classroom coaching ends. This forces students to join a new test series once again. This creates a disjuncture between the components of Instruction, Assessment, and Guidance. This disjuncture is unhealthy for aspirants which will create hurdles in their preparation frustrating their results.
Besides, owing to the nature of the exam many times students are unable to crack it on their very first attempt. And this failure is not due to their inability but a small slip here and there that can be easily corrected in the upcoming attempt with a little help from the institution. And this is exactly what the IAG program seeks to provide.
Continued guidance and assessment even after the classroom coaching helps students strike back.
Also, working professionals and college students who are often tied to various commitments try hard to catch up with their dreams of becoming an IAS officer. Keeping this in mind too, this course has been designed in both online and offline modes with a dedicated live streaming portal. Tests can be taken up according to the convenience of candidates on our online portal for both Prelims and Mains. The guidance component is also technology-mediated which helps in seamless contact with the Faculty

Following are the Unique Features of the course
Permanent faculty with Subject Expertise who lead all the components of the programme- IAG
1.Types of classes
2.Techniques of Teaching
Now let us walk through each component in detail:
800+ hours of Classes spaced over 9 months covering every section of Prelims and Mains Syllabus.
Classroom programme integrates:
Sprint answer writing:
Short duration tests - Sprint Tests are held every day after the lecture. These questions are based on topics covered in the previous lecture, which Manifest calls Revision Readings.
Generally, a Revision-reading will include Class lecture, Class handouts and Standard sources.
For example: if a student reads the textbook on World History before the class, his/her attention is naturally drawn to the nitty-gritty of the events and minor battles, which hold no relevance to the thematic understanding of the topic.
If readings are done after the class, the aspirant will be efficient in reading and extracting notes out of it in addition to class lectures.
Writing answers in mains examination is an art. It demands precision, choice of expression with the right balance of both facts and analysis.
If an aspirant is suddenly pushed into full-length answer writing tests, he/she may not be able to cope. Hence, Manifest has devised a Block Building method to answer in simple language.
Questions will range from Basics to Interdisciplinary Level
The word inter-disciplining in UPSC has various facets to it ranging from interlinkages between subjects (for instance Geography and Science and Technology – IRNSS question last year) to intra linking within-subjects i.e., static and current part, for instance, the 15th finance commission question in 2018 Mains.
Questions for the test will be framed keeping all these in mind as Manifest believes in UPSC way of preparation!
As part of the test series component, students will be provided with a total of 35+ tests for Prelims 2022 and 25+ Mains Tests for Mains 2022.
The Assessment component is a meaningful part of the course and offers a positive learning experience for students.
